Received this in our market report for the week:
"The house was priced too high. The condition of the home was excellent. There is no further interest.

kitchen and location, but not as large as another home I showed them.
Turns out they have credit issues and will not be in position to
purchase for some time."
Our agent said in an email this morning that she has no idea why that agent would be showing them homes if they aren't pre-qualified.
Why, indeed?
I asked her about the pricing thing since the last agent who showed it at the higher listing price said it was "priced about right". It is listed at a mere 5% above what we paid for it 3 years ago. That means we will lose money due to cost of sale even if we get the current list price. Hence, I don't think we can go any lower.
Blech.
Some good news is that there aren't as many homes for sale in this price range - the supply has dropped from 6 months to 4 months in the past two weeks. We have scheduled a broker's open house on Thursday and another regular open house next Sunday. And we still have tomorrow's showing at this point.
In my quiet time this morning, one word continually came to mind: wait.
Double blech.

It was a long ass week.
I started and ended the week with training classes. One useful, the other just made me want to gouge my eyes out. Plus there were a whole lot of headaches discovered within the files I've taken over.
And there have been a lot of other crappy sort of things, which have caused 6 ulcers in the back of my throat over the last 10 days. Basically the only thing that makes that feel better is ice cream and ice water.
But I got to go out with my peeps last night after work and that was fun.
I also volunteered to foster a cat. The people I work with often get sent far and away and they send out requests for people to either adopt their pets or foster them, depending on the length of their leave. This cat will be needing a home come Fall, which is exactly when I would like to get a cat. However, I would also like to travel eventually for the job and getting a cat of my own seemed silly since I would then have to find a home for it. So I decided fostering would work because I would have a cat that would essentially be my own for 9months to a year and then I give it back. If I will be staying a longer I can get a new kitty or if I am traveling I don't have to take in another. I am still waiting to hear back from the owner with the final details. If I don't hear back from them, then I will take on another.
I also decided I am really really tired of hearing about Dark Knight. I wasn't all that fond of Batman Begins, but when I saw it I really didn't care to see it so that might be somewhat biased. I also happened to like some of Heath Ledger's movies, but I can't help but think, had he not passed away this would just be another Batman movie. I will be glad when next week rolls around and everyone has seen it so I don't have to hear about it anymore.
I am also sick of the Twilight movie. If I see one more glittery post about Twilight and Robert Patterson I will punch a teenie. Srsly. Even my local Borders is decked out for the release of the next book, "Midnight release party! Free calendar! yadda yadda yadda". I've head a lot of people say the books were good, but because of all the hype and craziness surrounding the movie I have no desire to read the book. Coming from someone who went to the HP:DH Midnight party.
I am also still tired of hearing about Miley, Jonas Bros, High School Musical, and the other usual suspects.
But I digress.
This weekend the goals are:
Get the water fixed in my fish tank (since I figured out the problem).
Get fish for my fish tank.
Finish Lost Crown.
Clean the bathroom & kitchen
Pick up the Apartment
Do some laundry.
Go to: the grocery (which may have to wait til Monday - I hate groceries on the weekend)
Post Office
Target
Empty dishwasher and refill it
Take out the trash.
I think that is everything.
PS. Has anyone actually read Twilight? Is it really worth reading? If you have the maturity of a 12 year old (when you are sober), sorry, I don't want your *~glittery~* biased opinion.

This is a paperweight that I got from my grandmother. It belonged to my grandfather's grandmother.
It has an Iris in it, not that you can tell from any of the pictures.
During the move I left it in the care of my mother (who probably would have bashed me in the head with it, if I tried to cross state lines with it*).
Most people, when invited to a Saturday evening wedding in New York City, might make a weekend out of it. Not me. Now to be fair, until yesterday I was supposed to spend tomorrow riding roller coasters, but somebody (let's call him, oh I dunno.... D. San. No, wait - Daby S.) fell down playing his hippie frisbee game a week ago and is still bitching and moaning about it like a little baby. My original itinerary was to leave this morning around eight, and drive back home tonight after the reception - getting here around three or four in the morning. I could get a couple hours of sleep, and nap in the car on the way down to Williamsburg. It was to be a couple of long-ass days, for sure, but not completely unreasonable. And ever since I talked myself into the ridiculous notion of making the wedding a day trip, it's been difficult to contemplate alternate courses of action. Even considering my now-cancelled Sunday plans, I went to sleep yesterday thinking that I'd be back in my own bed the following night.
Now I don't know what to do. I'm up way too early. By which I mean: I'm up at the same time I usually wake up. My plan hinged on sleeping in until about seven. Under other circumstances, those two and a half hours might not matter. But staring down a potential twenty hour day, those two and a half hours could be the difference between making it home safely or ending up in a ditch along the New Jersey Turnpike. I suppose, should things go sideways, there is a hotel room available to me, but that brings up a whole mess of other issues. Like, what the hell would I do tomorrow? Does anybody know if there's anything to do in Manhattan?
My goal is to have a clean, clutter-free environment by the end of next week. A lofty goal from where I sit.
Drew and I finished our shopping tonight and decided to stop at the McDonalds in Walmart to have a coffee before heading home. The only table available was a long bench connected by individual tables. We got our coffee and sat down. Drew across from me - me on the bench. Sitting on the bench next to me (at the next table) was an older woman...probably in her 70's. A well-groomed- looking good for her age -70's...but 70's non-the-less. She is sitting there all alone..when suddenly..this older (70ish) man approached her. He asked if he could sit with her. She politely replied that she was waiting for someone and was obviously not interested in making conversation with him. He smiled and took a seat (on the same bench) at the table next to her. It was quite obvious he was trying to score, and even more obvious as he tried to make conversation with her. But she continued to play hard to get. The conversation went on for a few minutes as he asked if she was from town and blah blah blah. Still this woman seemed disinterested in his advances and spoke very little back to him. Until finally he made a comment about her scarf... Him :"that's a pretty scarf you have on there. It brings out the color in your eyes" Her: a smile. "Thank-you that's nice of you to say" Him: pardon? Her: "I said, thank-you that's nice of you to say" Him:"Your Welcome"..(as he slides over on the bench and is now sitting next to her at the same table) Him: "I'm sorry, I couldn't hear you, I forgot my hearing aid, so I'll have to sit next to you" Her: "OH...ok" (extends hand)" Hi..my name is Mary" Drew: (whispers)..."Damn...70 years old and still got it."
Sophie and I got a girl's day out today. Victoria had a slumber party and Josiah went to Six Flags with his bestest friend in the whole wide world.
I had to track down a movie theatre in the area that was still playing the American Girl Doll movie. Seems it got bumped from a bunch of theatres because of The Dark Knight. I had been promising her all week we would go. Most of the showings were too early. I finally found one in Annapolis that was showing at 4:10pm.
I got everyone else to where they were going and we headed out. I was super excited because there is an Amish market AND a Whole Foods in the same shopping center. I needed more truffles (Yes, I finished off the box I bought Monday night, but in my defense I shared with the kids, my mom, my sister in law, and broke them out on TV Thursday.) and wanted to grab some creme fraiche since no local store sells it.
The movie was good, but a bit of a tear jerker. Not once, not twice, but like 5 times at least. The Great Depression was definitely depressing. The cool thing was almost every group that came in consisted of a mom, some kids, and a great grandma (at least, I'm assuming it was a great grandma, they all looked like my Mom-Mom). There was even an elderly couple by themselves. I couldn't help but think that my Mom-Mom would've enjoyed it, considering she lived through the Great Depression herself.
After the movie we hit up Whole Foods. I bought my truffles and creme fraiche. I also picked up some cute grocery bags that were made from recycled plastic bottles. I love me some reusable bags. I hate plastic grocery bags with a vengence. They always seem to multiply and it's gotten to the point that I feel horribly guilty throwing them away knowing they are just going to sit in a landfill somewhere. The hardest thing is making sure I remember to take my bags into the grocery store when I shop.
On the way home, Sophie was dropping hints about going to dinner at Sakura, a Japanese hibachi restaurant. I was trying to steer her toward a local Korean restaurant, even reminding her that Jon and Kate Plus 8 just made Korean food. She could have some just like they made. She wasn't buying it though.
Steve got home shortly after us, and was like, let's go to Sakura, without Soph ever saying a word. Needless to say, she was thrilled. She was also thrilled to find she is too old for the kid's menu, so she got an adult portion. Nothing like a good dinner and enough leftovers for lunch the next day. Knowing Sophie, she may just break it out for breakfast.
So, anyway, I'm rambling. Soph's in bed, so Steve and I are going to curl up and watch a movie.
