]]>What did you do as a child that you feel guilty about even to this day?
I was five, my brother was one. I stuck my foot out and tripped him. He fell against the china cabinet and bit through his lip. He still bears the scar and loves to remind me.
He also has a scar on his nose, the result of my dropping a large metal table leg on his face during a camping trip. He likes to remind me of that one, too.
This is the same brother, by the way, who I left behind when I set the kitchen on fire.
It doesn't matter how much I love him... he'll never, ever let me forget.

]]>What's been your worst experience at a restaurant?
This is actually my mother's story but it's too funny not to share. Let me preface by saying that mom used to be a server in a restaurant and understand the importance of tips.
She and a coworker went to a local restaurant for lunch. The service was so bad that to say it was "terrible" would frankly be a compliment. She chose not to leave a tip. Apparently she left a penny on the table inadvertantly.
As she and her coworker left, the server ran out after them, screaming, "you forgot somthing!" and threw the penny at them.
Needless to say, we don't frequent that restaurant any longer.
]]>Sometimes when I don't know what to say, I'm tempted to do what Steve has done. But now that he's done it, I can't because that would be copying and everyone knows copying isn't nice.
]]>I signed up to play World of Warcraft again - over six months away and I'd forgotten how much I liked it. :)
]]>I get a ton of forwarded jokes and read even more on various message boards. Some I like, some I don't... this one caught my eye and I just had to share.
A new supermarket opened near my house. It has an automatic water mister to keep the produce fresh. Just before it goes on, you hear the sound of distant thunder and the smell of fresh rain.
When you pass the milk cases, you hear cows mooing and you experience the scent of fresh mown hay.
In the meat department there is the aroma of charcoal grilled steaks.
When you approach the egg case, you hear hens cluck and cackle, and the air is filled with the pleasing aroma of bacon and eggs frying for breakfast.
The bread department features the tantalizing smell of fresh baked bread & cookies.
I don't buy toilet paper there any more.
I have a case of the crud. It's not fair. In a perfect world, I'd be exempt since I'm already taking antibiotics. But of course that has nothing to do with the common cold.
I'll have something cheerful to post in the near future - it's there, I'll find it.
I was going to post a list of my most-played songs in Itunes until I realized that with the exception of four songs, they were all from the same artist.
I guess I play Cross Canadian Ragweed more than I thought.
So for posterity, my top 25 most-played songs other than CCR. There are a couple of them that honestly, I have no idea how they got there. I have no recollection of playing "Blue Collar Man" seventeen times, for example.
Now that it's November, it's time to start thinking about holiday cards. That's thinking, mind you - I'm not such a Martha-wannabe that my cards are anywhere near sending - in fact, I haven't sent them in years. This year I'm going to.
I just have to find them in the pile of holiday chaos - in fact, this year, I may buy new ones because the ones I've bought on clearance in years past are frankly inaccessible... the holiday stuff got shoved in a closet last year and I'm more than a little afraid to open the door.
Once I open Pandora's box*, I've got to sort the keepers from the garage sale stuff, find a different way to sort things so the closet can be (gasp!) used for other things too.
I'm just glad no one expects me to host a holiday part or dinner here... I get off lightly, really.
* There's a line in the movie Notting Hill in which the character Spike says "I knew a girl called Pandora once. Never let me see her box, though." Asinine but it makes me laugh every time.
There was a boy I once knew whose most famous and apparently successful pickup line was "if you're not using your virginity any more, can I have the box it came in?"
I clip coupons. In fact, I play the Grocery Game. I get obsessive about my coupons but it's a fun hobby, it saves me money, it gets me off the computer... it's all good.
Today I bought four newspapers. I'd been buying three but I kept finding deals where I'd used two coupons for a deal and then my third coupon was sort of "odd man out" and would be wasted... so four it is. One of the papers had had an issue with the machine that inserts the coupons and stuff - I got four copies of the TV guide and an extra set of coupons. Woohoo! It's probably a bit sad that I was giddy-happy over coupons but I've already justified it.
I still have a ton of coupons to clip and sort but they'll be done by Tuesday, when my Grocery Game list comes out and I go shopping.
