We watched "Shoot 'Em Up" tonight. I knew it was an over-the-top gun fight movie, and that's about it. In the first few minutes, the hero kills a man with a carrot and delivers a baby in the middle of a gun fight. It goes, well, downhill from there.
It's cheesy and has more gratuitous violence than a Tarantino movie, but I don't know when I've had this much fun watching a movie.
I have been crazy-happy-giddy ever since my mom told me my grandparents are moving... they've been living about two hours away, in absolute BFE - so if the weather is even the least bit icky, I don't dare drive. They're going to be half an hour away, in mom's town, in a much better place than they've been living.
My sweet Grammy asked mom, "do you think Jenny will come visit me more?" Darn tootin'! I'm going to be there every week at least, driving her bananas probably. :)
I have the advantage of a young family - I'm in my thirties and Grammy is in her seventies. Grampy is in his eighties. Neither of them are in the best of health, and Grammy especially. So I'm so glad I can visit them more without advance planning and weather checking and spending half a day driving.
And yes, I am in my thirties and call them Grammy and Grampy. In public, even. I don't know when I started doing that but I'm pretty sure it's been since adulthood - it just fits.
I've discovered the joy that is Paperback Book Swap. Today, I listed 26 books, sent out one, and ordered four. Unfortunately the books I wanted most weren't there, but some were technical and some were too popular to last long. They're all on my wish list so we shall see.
And if people want the books I've listed, I'll get my shelves emptied a bit in no time! Granted, with five sets bookshelves and at least two more boxes of books, I won't be hurting for reading material ever.
I cannot wait for spring. I swear I never feel truly warm these days.

I've started digital scrapbooking, which I think is loads of fun. I went through and organized all my digital photos.
I have one huge batch from a wedding several years ago - one of my husband's closest friends. The marriage has ended. I don't have a desire to keep the photos - but it feels wrong somehow to delete them. The day happened. The pictures were taken.
I don't know.
I cancelled my monthly subscription to Weight Watchers today. Why? Because by the time that the next payment is due... I'll be a LIFETIME MEMBER and will be able to attend meetings free.
I still have 20 pounds I intend to lose, but I'm now at the very top of the accepted weight range. It is such a good feeling!
I used bastardize in a sentence today. I used it correctly, thank you very much. My husband would not believe it was a word until I took him to dictionary.com to look it up. He continued to make fun of me but at least he knew I was right.
I decided on January 1st last year to keep track of every book I read. I just added the last of them to my lists here at Vox and then added them up - two hundred twenty-five books in three hundred sixty-five days. Not too shabby. :)
I'm going to do the same thing for 2008 but I'll track them at Good Reads rather than here.
